Words: Alan Jay Lerner; Music: Burton Lane (1965)

On a clear day
Rise and look around you
And you’ll see who you are.
On a clear day
How it will astound you
That the glow of your being
Outshines ev’ry star.
You feel part of
Ev’ry mountain, sea, and shore;
You can hear from far and near
A world you’ve never heard before,
And on a clear day,
On that clear day, You can see forever
And ever, and ever, and evermore!

“On a Clear Day (You Can See Forever)” is a song from the 1965 musical of the same name, and was performed by Barbra Streisand in the 1970 film version. It is about a woman who has ESP and has been reincarnated.

Here is the film version of the song, sung by Barbra Streisand, and arranged and conducted by Nelson Riddle:

And here is a recording by Frank Sinatra from his “platinum” 1966 album, Strangers in the Night. This is the final album Sinatra performed with the great Nelson Riddle and his orchestra.
