BOCES Concert “Amazing”
Our BOCES music program for primary school students with disabilities finished mid-June, culminating in a concert on June 15 where all 48 students sang. One parent described the concert as “amazing” adding “Your wonderful work and fantastic demeanor is deeply appreciated.” Another parent wrote “All of the kids were wonderful and you could see how much they love music.”
And we received the following statement from staff specialist Leah Pollack:
“The music program really enhanced our classrooms as the practices were integrated into their daily routines. The staff and students worked extremely hard to present a program-wide concert and as we reflect on the event, we’re able to see how much our students really accomplished. We’ve seen our students gain in their independence, focus, communication and much more!”
The IMH wishes to extend its thanks to BOCES, and specifically to Ms. Pollack, for their supporting our mission of using music to enhance the lives of those with disabilities. We hope to do it again in the future!
